Research in NOx emission control in diesel has advanced significantly since 1960＇s. This paper introduces the NOx formation mechanism and the effective factors in diesel, reviews many NOx emission control techniques and expounds the latest progress in this field. The advantages and disadvantages of many NOx emission control measures are discussed, and the developing trend is pointed out.
