It has been well argued by feminists that there is a striking dual opposite of man and woman in the concept of patriarchy. Men are referred to as being the active and the successful, while women the passive and the dead. Through her feminist presentation in her novels, Wang firmly criticizes and deconstructs the love stories, the dual opposite of man and woman and the system of social culture under the practice of patriarchy.
