摘要
翻译单位是翻译过程中首先需要确定的问题。以句群(sentencegroup)为汉英翻译单位,其优势表现在:(1)体现句间的连贯;(2)反映主题的层次;(3)便于按照译语思维习惯安排语序;(4)利于突出信息中心。
Unit of translation varies from words, phrases to sentences and paragraphs. Sentence group as translation unit in Chinese-English translation has the following advantages: 1) to express the coherence between sentences; 2) to reflect different levels of the topic; 3) to arrange the word order according to the habit of target language; and 4) to elaborate the main theme.
