摘要
随着国际经济全球化趋势的进一步发展和中国对外开放的不断扩大,英汉双语教学在国内和其他许多国家掀起了一阵热潮。然而由于汉语和英语代表着东西方两种不同的文化体系,在教学过程中如果忽略了对两种语言文化知识的学习,就会导致语言交际中的文化休克现象,影响到英汉双语教学的顺利进行。要有效地开展英汉双语教学工作及提高教学质量,就要在教学过程中不断地进行文化移入,逐步培养起学生对彼此文化差异的敏感性,这样才能避免英汉双语教学中因缺失文化背景知识而在语言交际中出现的文化休克现象,达到双语教学的目的。
With the quickened steps of the economic globalization and of China's opening to the outside world, the bilingual teaching and learning of Chinese and English witnesses a greater momentum than ever before in history. However, owing to the negligence of gaining the cultural background knowledge reflected by the two languages respectively, culture shock inevitably occurs in the course of teaching and learning both Chinese and English, which has some negative effects on the teaching and learning of the two languages. This paper, therefore, argues that acculturation is the only effective solution to such problems, by means of which culture shock can be avoided and the students" sensitivity to the subtle differences between the two cultures can be well developed.
