摘要
通过对海明威的著名短篇小说《雨中的猫》中的名词短语、动词结构、语篇衔接方式、叙事角度等方面所进行的分析认为,小说的语言体现了频繁采用某种语言结构而产生的量上的“失衡”突出,这种突出的语言结构由于数量众多为作品中的其它语言特征提供了文内规则,使得文本中的另外一些语言结构因偏离文内规则而超出了读者的阅读期待,从而产生进一步的突出效果,这两种突出都具有主题关联性。海明威动态地使用了偏离与突出来揭示作品的主题,体现了其独具匠心的创作手法及其著名的“冰山原理”。
By analyzing the nominal group structure, verbal structure, cohesion and point of view in Hemin gway＇s famous short story ＂Cat in the Rain＂, this paper explores the stylistic effect and literary relevance of these linguistic elements. It comes to the conclusion that just because of the dynamic use of deviation and prominence, Hemingway reveals to the reader the economical nature of his language and the essence of his ＂Iceberg Theory＂.
