摘要
本文试图以海明威的“冰山原则”的创作理论来分析海明威的短篇小说《雨中的猫》,着重指出由于作者省略了女主人公的隐秘的内心世界,从而使女主人公的言行乍看之下显得有些怪异。但由于作者对所省略的东西心中有数,这样,就使读者强烈地感觉到作者所省略的东西,如此,女主人公的言行便显得合理,而这一人物形象也因此显得真实、丰满。
Based on Hemingway' s writing theory-Iceberg Principle,the writer attem pts to analyze the main character in Hem-ingway' s short story The Cat in the Rain.It is pointed out that as the description o f the heroine' s secret inner world is omitted in the story,at firs t glance the heroine' s behavior seems to be eccentric.The author himself,how-ever,knows very well what is omitted and manages to make it known to the readers between the lines,therefore th e heroine' s behavior,in fact,is rather reason able,and the figure is real and plump .
