摘要
翻译是一种心理活动,也是一种社会活动。从认知角度研究语言,把人的认知和语言的关系纳入翻译研究的范围,对翻译研究具有科学的导向和启示。词是翻译中可以传输的最基本的语义单位。按照认知语言学的观点,词不仅仅是简单的语义符号,而是具有认知和心理基础的。因此,词的翻译不仅仅是不同语言间语义符号的转换,在本质上是语言间认知范畴的转移过程。本文拟从认知语言学中范畴的视角,对英汉翻译中词汇的范畴转移作一尝试性的分析和分类。
Translation is a social activity as well as a psychological process. Studying tanguages from cognitive perspective with the consideration of relationship between human cognitive mechanism and language is scientifically-oriented and enlightening to translation study. Word, in translation, is a basic semantic unit that can be transmitted. In the view of cognitive linguistics, word is not a mere linguistic symbol but is cognitively and psychologically based. Therefore, the translation of words is a code-switching process in form but one involving the transfer of cognitive categories in essence. This paper is to make a tentative analysis of the lexical category transfer in English-Chinese translation from the perspective of category in cognitive linguistics.
