摘要
本文就ＡＴＭ环境下变速率视频编码的统计特性及其模型研究作了综合性评述。文章讨论了变速率视频业务突发性测度，多种已提出的统计模型及其性能。阐述了变速率视频业务模型的意义及其应用。文章最后探讨了该领域研究仍需要解决的问题。
This paper reviews the research works on the statistical characteristics and modeling of variable bit rate video coding in ATM environment.It gives some measures for characterizing the burstiness of video sources and investigates several statistical models.The paper also shows the applications of statistical models and their influences on ATM networks.After summarizing prevous research works,it indicates that some problems should further be studied and solved.
