A complex achromatic λ/4 waveplate, which is compoSed of a λ/4 waveplate and a λ/2waveplate, has been developed. The fast axes of the waveplates make an angle of 60 degree with eachOther. The experiment shows that the complex λ/4 waveplate is chromatic at the range of 0.48 -0. 76λm.
