华裔作家黄哲伦把握自己的民族身份,创作了一部解构《蝴蝶夫人》的作品《蝴蝶君》。剧中作者审视了制约着西方社会思维的东方主义以及建构在这一主义之上的东方模式,并通过角色倒置,颠覆了原有的东西方权力关系。
Retaining his own national identity, David Hwang creates Mr. Butterfly, a great play deconstructing Madame Butterfly. In this play, Hwang criticizes Orientalism, which restricts thoughts of the Westerns and on which stereotypes of Oriental images are based. This play also subverts power relationship between the West and the East by the exchange of roles.
