摘要
用简单的数学方法描述了科技期刊的出版时滞问题，提出了稿件互等待时滞、编辑出版过程时滞、刊期等待时滞和脱期出版时滞等概念，并给出了相应的计算公式，本研究为规划、调度科技期刊编辑出版工作，或评估期刊的出版状况提供了更为具体而又坚实的基础。
the Characteristics of time delay in publication of scientific journals is described by meansof an elementary mathematical method,The time delay includes the time consumed on mutual waitamong manuscripts,the time on the whole editorial process,the time on waiting for the duepublication date and the time caused by petponded publication because of lack of manuscripts,and allthe four kinds of time delay can be calculated by the formulae given in this paper.This paper is ofconcrete importance both to the editors in dynamically planning and controlling of the editorial processand to the administrative departments in evaluating the publishing conditins.
