Abstract The paper outlined the development and application of GFCs its damage to the ozone layer and how to control it CFCs have a wide use as refrigerant detergent spraying agent foaming agent etc.. For the protection of the ozone layer ,scientists have made much efforts to develop the substitutes of CFCs In this paper the anthor reviewed the research work and technology for the reeycle and harmlessness of CFCs and introdneed Japanese countermeasures to the problem.
