Zhongwan (CV12) Weiwan (TE5) and Zusanli(ST36)were employed as the main points in this study to treat esophageal achalasia. Markedly effective was obtained in 32 cases, accounting for 53. 3%; effective in 20 cases, accounting for 33. 3%j ineffectiva in the rest 8 cases,accounting for 13. 4%. The overall effective rate was 86. 6%. The author concluded that three factors, differentiation, manipulation and time selection for acupuncture are crucial in the therapy.
