摘要
陶希圣在中国近现代史学史上究竟占有何种地位?陶希圣最大的史学贡献,是创办和主持了《食货》半月刊。《食货》的创办,是陶希圣对中国社会史论战作学术反思以及在政治失意后转向教学之境遇的一个结果,也是适应时代思想和学术发展的需要,开拓历史研究新领域的一个结果。《食货》创办的史学意义,在于明确打出“社会史专攻”的旗帜,对于中国社会经济史研究的开展,起到了拓荒与奠基的作用,在中国史学融入世界史学新潮的历程中,起到了推进的作用。《食货》的成功,得益于陶希圣在会通史料与理论之研究理路上的探索。所有这些对他在中国近现代史学史上的地位作了最好的说明。
What kind of position should TAO Xi-sheng occupy in modern Chinese history? His most important historic contribution lies in starting the semimonthly journal Shi Huo (Food Goods), which results from TAO's academic reflection upon the rencountres of Chinese social history as well as his stand change from his political failure to teaching, and which is also a requirement of the ideology and academic development of his epoch. In other words, the significance lies in its definite proposal of 'specification in social historical studies', a pioneer and foundation for carrying profound researches in Chinese social economic history. The success of the magazine benefits from TAO's exploration in combining historical data and theories, which is also a footnote for his status in modern Chinese historiography.
