摘要
产生于音系学领域的优选论通过普遍、可违反的制约条件在各类语言中的不同等级排列充分体现了语言的普遍性和特殊性。这一优势使它成为普遍语法理论 ,其理论原则和分析方法被应用到包括句法在内的其他语言研究领域。优选论的介入弥补了传统的原则与参数理论的不足。
As a development of phonological theory,optimality theory gives a full illustration to universal and individual linguistic features through distinctive rankings of universal and variable constraints in different languages.This advantage enables it to become a universal grammatical theory,whose theoretical framework and methodology have been applied to fields other than phonology.OT-based syntax fills the empirical gap of principle and parameter theory and its analysis of Wh-movement and inversion clearly shows the linguistic typology as the result of variations of a set of universal and variable constraints.
