Abstract Due to the strict environment protection,the archi-tectural coatings are being developed towards wa-ter-borne, high-solid, powder and multifunctionalsystems. In the United States, emphasis is put onthe styrene/acrylic and polyvinyl acetate emulsionpaint systems , styrene/acrylic system in Japan andpolyvinyl acetate system in Europe. The researchwork in mostly involved in the' super weatherre-sistant and moisture-breathing exterior wall paints.The color cloud-like interior and functional coatingsare introduced.
