method for the quantitative analysis(GC)of sugars in soils is described.The samples were hydrolyzedwith acid and seven monosaccharides,rhamnose,fucose,arabionose,xylose,mannose,glucose and galac-tose,were obtained.After derivatization by oxiniation and acetylation reactiOns,the derivatives were sepa-rated and quantitatively determined by Gc with a glass column packed with 5%OV-225/80～100 mesh whitesupport.It’s a simple and reliable method.
