摘要
对于刚跨入大学校门的新生来说，大学生活既新鲜又陌生，既充满机遇又富有挑战性。他们需要学会在生活上照顾自己，在学习上自己合理安排时间。另外，高等教育与中等教育在教学内容、教学方法等方面的不同使新生一时难以适应，特别是大学英语更令许多学生头疼。要求新生写英语学习周记可以帮助教师与学生沟通，从而更有针对性地对他们的学习给予指导。这无论对学生还是对教师都是有好处的。
To freshmen, university life, both unfamiliar and exciting, is full of opportunities and challenges. They need to learn how to look after themselves and how to rationally manage their time. In addition, the differences between higher education and secondary education in teaching content, teaching methods, and many other aspects as well make it difficult for them to adjust to the new situation. In particular, many of them find college English a headache. Writing English learning journals offers a channel through which the instructor and the freshmen can communicate, thus providing them with guidance in accordance with their specific cases. This is very valuable to both the instructor and the students.
