摘要
近年来,在我国英语教学中,采用交际教学法的呼声越来越高,传统的语法翻译法的主导地位受到了挑战,但语法翻译法有着其他教学法所不可比拟的优势。语法翻译法的内涵及其特征表明,语法翻译法在中国外语教学中具有一定的适用性。中国的语言学习环境决定了语法翻译法的存在价值。
In recent years, the voice for Communicative Approach and that against Grammar-Transla-tion method has been on the rise. The dominant position of the latter in foreign language teaching is faced with challenge. Yet Grammar-Translation method does have advantages over others. Its connota-tions and features bear out its applicability in foreign language teaching in China. The circumstances within which foreign langauges are taught and learned dictate that Grammar-Translation method is valu-able and applicable to foreign language teaching in China.
