摘要
历来关于周初所建三监的各类记载和论述,意见分歧比较大,有必要加以研讨,取得一致的看法。三监应是管、蔡、霍三叔,不包括武庚。管主卫,蔡主,霍主邶,其他分工之说不可取。邶在朝歌之北,在其南,卫在其东,其他方位之说亦不可取。
Since differences exist in historical records and writings about the three supervisors in the early Zhou Dynasty it is necessary for us to clarify the confusion in order to reach an agreement. In fact, the three supervisors include the three uncles: Guan, Cai, and Huo with Wugeng excluded. Uncle Guan is in charge of Wei; Uncle Cai Yong; and Uncle Huo Bei. Other views are unacceptable. The idea that Bei is to the north of Chaoge, Yong to the south, and Wei to the east, is not acceptable at all.
