标题翻译必须紧扣原文主旨,反映一定的意趣;同时还必须发挥译语优势,用凝练机智的语言设计形式美,只要译文标题具有一定的意美、音美,并紧扣原作思想内容,纵然背离原文标题,也应该是合格的译作。
The translation of a title must be a faithful reflection of the meaning of the original work as well as its interest and charm. Formal beauty of the translated title is to be achieved by bringing advantages of the translating language into full play and employing succinct and witty language. A translated title is acceptable so long as it bears beauty of meaning and sound as well as form and is faithful to the content of the original work.
