This paper makes a comparatively detailed analysis of the fourteen year(1987 2000) application of modern hermeneutics and the aesthetics of reception to China's translation studies. On the basis of such an analysis, the author puts forward some basic views on the present researches and its prospects in this field. At last an appeal is made to establish the translation reception aesthetics. [
