摘要
《还乡》中和游苔莎和《边城》中的翠翠都有着鲜明的自然美、人性美和悲剧美。她们的美既有跨越东西方文化差异的共同特质,又承载着不同的社会内容和文化积淀,寄托了作家独特的审美理想和审美情感。通过这两个形象,哈代和沈从文表达了对女性命运的思虑,构建出了各自理想中的现代人雏形和人生模式。
Both Eustacia (The Return of the Native) and Cuicui (Bian Cheng) have distinctive natural beauty, human beauty and tragic beauty. On one hand, the two characters share some qualities that transcend the differences between western and eastern cultures; on the other, they reflect the different aesthetic conceptions and ideals of Thomas Hardy and Shen Congwen. With Eustacia and Cuicui, the two writers express their thoughts on women's fates and depict ideal philosophies of life respectively.
