摘要
语法隐喻是功能语法中的一个重要概念,Halliday认为名物化是产生语法隐喻的一项重要来源。名物化的意义在于可以使小句、语篇中的信息结构,通过参与者和环境成分的变化、小句层次和词组结构的变化重新组合。在正式的语体中,名物化结构是一个重要特征,因为名物化具有囊括和浓缩的功能,可以使得意思在语篇中的表达符合正式文体关于客观、严密、紧凑、合理、简练等的行文要求,并且使术语的构建和使用成为可能。
Grammar metaphor is an important concept in functional grammar.According to Halliday,nominalization is the main source from which grammar metaphor derives.Nominalization is significant in that it reorganizes information structures in clause and in text,by alternating participators and circumstances,and shifting clause and group constructions.In formal registers,nominalization is an outstanding feature because of its functions of encapsulation and condensation,which make the presentation of meaning in text close,concise,objective,and reasonable,and which make the construction of technical terms possible.
