摘要
本文根据海外大学汉语教学的实际情况 ,主张以开放宽容的心态对待普通话的变体 ,善于利用其中的资源 ,从而对某些在交际中实际上不重要的技能要求适当放宽标准。这样就可把更多的精力放在文化性内容的教学上 ,从而达到基础教育开拓文化视野的主要目标。
The practical situation of Chinese teaching in American universities requires that some detailed language skills which are non-consequential in real communication (which do not affect intelligibility) be substandardized, thus reserving valuable class time and resources for dissemination of cultural knowledge——the major function of foreign language courses in general education. As more than half of the Chinese population and the majority of overseas Chinese students come from dialectal backgrounds, allowing substandard pronunciations and incorporating substandard variations can be a useful measure to effective and economic language teaching.
