摘要
The paper discusses the application of the thematic theory and theinformation equivalence to English-Chinese translation.It first probes into thetraditional way of translating and points out its weaknesses.Then,it interprets thesignificance of achieving thematic equivalence and information equivalence in English-Chinese translating.Finally,it presents a lot of examples to show how the research isapplied to the translation of various clause structures from English into Chinese so as towin equivalence translation.
