This paper aims at the theory of interlanguage and the foreign language teaching and learning in China.Starting from the discrimination and the varied translation of the concept of interlanguage,it describes in details the four kinds of characteristics of interlanguage system:a.independent,b.open and flexible,c.lawful,d.psychological.It explores the fossilization of the foreign language learning and the process of the foreign language acquistion,which,in my view,consists of both restructuring and recreation.It also deals with the interlanguage study methods(observation,experiment,comparison and summing-up),with which we can put forward hypotheses and probe into the learning process of Chinese foreign language learners objectively and systematically.
