摘要
对于《礼记》的“礼不下庶人”的记载，学者们大多深信不疑，将它看成是中国古代社会的礼法特点。其实，“礼不下庶人”是讲具体的礼仪规定的，不能抽象成阶级原则；无论是从理论上，还是从事实上看，庶人都是有“礼”的。目前学术界流行的酬酢之礼不下庶人、庶人无力行礼、庶人假士礼而行、战国以前礼不下庶人、贵族之礼不下庶人、宗法礼不下庶人等说皆有难以自圆其说之处。究其原因，是由于理论前提、思维方式、论证方法等方面的错误所致。
People usually believe in the doctrine that ' feudal ethical code not suiting common people' which was written in Li Ji and took it as the character of ethical code in acient Chinese society. But in fact the doctrine was concerned the specific ethical code and should not be generalized into some class' rule. Common people also have ethical codes.The popular ideas held in academic field at the present that feudal ethical codes not suiting common people, common people are not capable to use ethical codes, etc., an can not make a persuadable theory, since they have the wrong points in the aspects such as the theoretic presupposition,the way of thinking, the method of proving,etc.
