On Reform of the Courses for the Self-learning Examination in Higher Education

摘要 中国的高等教育自学考试制度起步于80年代初期。10多年来,它为我国各行各业和经济建设培养了大批人才,也为许多人实现了求知深造的愿望,对促进我国社会的全面发展功不可没。但是,随着市场经济体制的日益完善,高等教育自学考试制度也显露出了亟待改革的许多问题,其中又以课程设置尤甚。 Chinese self-learning Examination in Higher Education was a project started in early 1980' s. It has trained a great number of professionals for all national industries, meanwhile, has enabled many people to realize their desires to have further training. It is irrebuttable that this project has been a boost to the whole national progress. With the market economy getting more sophisticated, problems began to rise in the Self-learning Examination, the worst of all is its curriculum. The following are main imperfections in its curriculum: -To take conventional higher education as its guideline, ignoring the self-learning's uniqne need. -To be misled by degree education, aiming at a wrong syllabus. -To be dominated by compulsory courses, resulting in an unreasonable constitution of courses. -To stay behind the current need, waiting for updating. The writer believes the reform of self-learning Examination for Higher Education covers many aspects. It's important to make sure as to which aspects should get priority of attention. Due to the situation of the curriculum, the reform can begin with the five aspects: 1. Modification of curriculum objectives, including better selection and adjustment of objectives. 2. Optimum of constitution of courses, including suspension of the traditional curriculum, rearrangement of courses, with a stress on selective courses, tight link between practice and theory. 3. Renew of the content of courses. 4. Standardization of curriculum management, including guarantee for basic courses, more chances for selective courses, regulated social donation for schooling, improvement of credit system. 5. Redefinition of evaluation, including stress on developing and assessing vocational competence, stress on developing and assessing creativeness.
