摘要
袁枚与章学诚之间关于"妇学",尤其是妇女应否写作问题的争论,从五四以来被赋予了"女性革命"先声的意义。但从史实和学理来看,这场论争的本质应该被看作不同经学思想的斗争。袁枚沿袭了王学末流将"道"一变而为"情"的思路,将之再变为"欲"。章学诚的经世史学则把形而上的天理自然之"道",转为形而下的政治制度、人伦日用。所以,二人所持的女性观只有在各自的经学背景下才可以得到解释。
The argument between Zhang Xue-Cheng and Yuan Mei should be interpreted as the conflict of different schools of thought about the study of Confucian Classics.From this perspective,real differences between these orientations become clearer.Yuan Mei followed the late decadent stance of the Wang Yang-ming School and interpreted Tao as 'Emotion' and subsequently as 'Desire'.On the other hand,in his historiography of statecraft,Zhang Xue-cheng conceptualized Tao as the metaphysical rules of Heaven and by extension,as the model for the political system and as the guide for everyday ethics.
