性教育是素质教育的有机组成部分,图书馆应该成为学校性教育的重要阵地。高校图书馆开展性教育是其任务和服务创新的内在要求。高校图书馆可以通过举办专题讲座与展览、推荐性方面的书刊、推行同伴教育、进行网络教育、开展知识竞赛或主题宣传、呼吁家长与社会共同参与等措施对大学生开展性教育。
