摘要
《红楼梦》堪称是一部有关中国文化的百科全书,怎样让历史悠久的中国传统文化传到西方,让欧美国家了解我国民族的优秀文化,翻译起着至关重要的作用。本文试通过对《红楼梦》霍译本中人名和典故译例的分析来探讨其跨文化交际效果。
The Story of the Stone can be regarded as an encyclopedia of the Chinese culture. Translation plays an important role in how to put the traditional Chinese culture with long history across the readers in the West and let them know about it. This paper attempts to probe into the intercultural communicative effect by way of analyzing some of the translated examples of personal names and allusions in The Story of the Stone by David Hawkes.
