The pottery vessels with animal-headed spout and loop handle unearthed in Vietnam were dated from the late period of Eastern Han Dynasty to the early years of Three Kingdoms Period. The pattern of animal's head was different. The face of animal became flat and the trunk tumed into a tube.Their prototype could be traced to South Asia, and their shape was directly infuenced by the bronze vessels with elephant-headed spout and loop handle which were unearthed in Vietnam.Vessels with spout and loop handle may spread eastward from India to the South and the North of Vietnam via the Malay Peninsula, with the historical background that were involved in the activities of Indian Brahman in Southeast Asia.Pottery vessels with animal-headed spout and loop handle were the pottery with Vietnamese regional characteristics which were produced locally under the influence of South Asia, and were used for sacrifice in the tombs, which reflected the influence of Indian culture in the formation of Han culture in Vietnam during the Han Dynasty.
