摘要
维多利亚时期被称为小说的时代,萨克雷是这一时期涌现出的诸多批判现实主义小说家的杰出代表。萨克雷塑造了三个经典形象,其中两位为女性,分别是贝基·夏普和碧爱崔丽克斯。以这两位经典女性的出处为文本,从隐喻视角审视《名利场》和《亨利·艾斯芒德的历史》,通过分析萨克雷对女性的书写,对婚姻的描写,对人生的刻画,得出其笔下的隐喻所折射出的萨克雷的女性观和爱情婚姻观。
The Victorian era is called the age of novels.William Makepeace Thackery is one representative of the many outstanding critic realistic novelists.Of his three classical heroes,two are heroins,Rebecca Sharp and Beatrix.This paper tries to probe into Vanity Fair and The History of Henry Esmand?from the perspective of metaphor.After analyzing Thackery’s depiction of women,love and marriage,it is safe to conclude Thackery’s view of women and love and marriage reflected by his metaphors.
