摘要
本文借助系统功能语法的语气和言语功能理论,考察《牡丹亭》和《罗密欧与朱丽叶》中女性詈语和礼貌用语及其所遵守的修辞原则,探讨这两种修辞手段在社会语境中对女性人物身份建构的作用。研究发现:在特定的交际情境中,女性使用詈语和礼貌用语建构或突显妻子、母亲、女儿、主人、仆人或恋人的身份。不同社会关系中的同一女性遵守或违反“得体”原则,通过适切的话语,实现理想的角色期望,达到预期的交际目的,从而实现身份建构。
Using the theory of mood and speech function of Functional Grammar,this article examines swearing and polite expressions used by female characters and analyzes the females’rhetorical principles when using swearing or polite words in The Peony Pavilion and Romeo and Juliet so as to explore the effect on the identity construction of female characters under specific social context with these two rhetoric devices.The study shows that a female can construct or highlight her identity as wife,mother,daughter,hostess or lover through different rhetorical means in a particular communicative context.The same woman in different social relationships can observe or violate the principle of appropriateness by means of appropriate utterances,realizing role expectations,communicative purposes and identity construction ultimately.
