摘要
通过简要介绍和梳理“铸牢中华民族共同体意识”重大原创性论断的形成过程,以及考察分析、比较研究我国官方文件的英文译本对该论断的英译流变和不同翻译,本文提出,比较贴切反映“铸牢中华民族共同体意识”的英文翻译应为:“foster a strong sense of community for Chinese nation”。本文认为,在我国的官方文件英文译本中统一“铸牢中华民族共同体意识”的英译有助于我们全面准确地在全球推介该重大原创性论断,并且能更好地让外部世界了解在新时代我国是如何以铸牢中华民族共同体意识为主线做好民族工作的。
By briefly describing the development process of“铸牢中华民族共同体意识”,which itself is a fundamental and original proposition,and by analyzing the shifting English translation of this proposition in Chinese official documents,this article proposes that“fostering a strong sense of community for Chinese nation”should be a suitable English translation for“铸牢中华民族共同体意识”.It maintains that a unified English translation for“铸牢中华民族共同体意识”in English editions of Chinese official documents will help to promote this enormous and original proposition more comprehensively and accurately,and it will also help outside world better understand how China works on ethnic affairs with fostering a strong sense of community for Chinese nation as the main line in the new era.
