摘要
以百度在线机译、罗经国、谢百魁的《出师表》英译本为研究对象,在生态翻译学视角下从语言、文化两个维度,对人工翻译和机器翻译进行对比研究。研究发现,相比人工译本,百度翻译在两个维度均明显出现对原文的错译和漏译,尤其是具有文化内涵词语的翻译,翻译质量远不如人工译本。罗经国采用“原生化”译法,关注修辞手法的应用,对官职和谦辞的英译保留了原文的文化内涵,但译文不够简洁;谢百魁采用“译生化”和“简生化”译法,选词精准简洁,符合英文读者的阅读习惯;官职的翻译,谢百魁不如罗经国处理得好。
Taking three English versions of Memorial to the Emperor before the Northern Expedition by Baidu online translation,Luo Jingguo and Xie Baikui as examples,this study compares the human translations with the machine translations from linguistic and cultural dimensions of Eco-translatology.Results indicate that compared to human translations,there are obvious mistranslations and omissions in Baidu's translations in both dimensions.And Baidu's translations are far behind human translations in the expression of cultural connotations.Luo Jingguo adopts source-contextualization,he pays attention to the application of rhetoric and retains the cultural connotations of official positions and modest words.However,his translations are not succinct.Xie Baikui adopts target-contextualization and adaptive reduction,his translations are concise and in line with the reading habits of English readers.When it comes to official positions,Luo Jingguo's translations are better.
