摘要
校训是大学精神内涵和思想追求的集中体现,是大学文化与治学精神的高度浓缩,校训既能全面体现学校的办学理念、人才培养目标,又能约束全体师生员工的思想和行为。文章分别对大学校训的定义及功能、高校校训翻译现状、大学校训翻译方法等进行了详尽阐述,旨在引起高校相关管理部门及翻译界同行对大学校训翻译的关注和重视。
The school motto represents highly the spiritual connotation and ideological pursuit of one university,and condenses highly the university culture and the ideas of school managing.It can not only embody the university's education philosophy and its goals of train⁃ing talents,but also guide the thinking and act of all the staff on campus.This paper expounds in detail the definition and function of school motto,as well as its translation methods,aiming at arousing the attention of some of our university leaders and translators to school motto translation.
