摘要
本文探讨如下问题,中国城市化推进过程中,如何构建合理的城市体系。我们基于城市经济学的研究路径,对中国过去10年的城市体系演进进行了系统回顾,并运用省区动态面板数据识别了城市规模分布演进影响整个城市体系的外部性进而影响经济增长的机制。本文发现,从整个城市体系的规模分布看,中国的城市体系仍未达到最优分布状态,但正逐步向其趋近。中国城市规模分布体系主要特征为中小城市过多而大城市过少,少数大城市相对规模过大。新的(特)大城市的出现,及各大城市的共同发展,能显著促进区域经济效率。本文的发现为中国未来的城市化途径选择提供了有益见解。
This paper explores the question that how to build a rational urban system in the urbanization process. This paper firstly reviewed the evolution of urban system of China in the past ten years, then identifies the mechanism how the evolution of city size distribution impact economic growth Using dynamic panel data at the provincial level. China＇ s urban system has not reached the optimal distribution, but is gradually closing to it. There are too many small cities and too few big cities, and the relative size of a small number of large cities is too large. The emergence of new large cities, and the co - development of large cities, can significantly promote regional economic growth.
