视阅口译融阅读理解、断句分析和灵活表达等技能于一体,要求译员边读边译,是口译中的重要训练环节,也是一种有效考查应试者断句及流畅表达能力的手段。本文介绍了视阅口译区别于其它类型口译的基本特点,阐述了视阅口译的基本工作原理和所需技能,并在教学和实践过程中总结提炼出了一套切实可行、循序渐进的技能训练方法。
A major skill for interpreters,sight translation integratas reading comprehension,seg- menting sentences and reformulation.It is also an effective tool for assessing competency levels of applicants,by providing an opportunity to observe them in a high-pressure situation, their attention divided,as they manage reading and simultaneous translation.Aiming to improve training performances,this article focuses first on the distinguishing characte ristics of sight translation;next,on its basic working principles,and finally,on its pragmatic train- ing procedures.
