摘要
为了研究信息在句子中的分布情况,语言学家们作了很多探讨。把句子切分为主位(theme)和述位(rheme),并把主位结构与信息分布结合起来研究。
The correlation between theme and information has been a topic of interest to linguists and grammarians ever since the two terms 'theme' and 'rheme' were put forword by the Prague School in the 1920s. Some issues, however, seem to deserve further discussion. The present paper offers the view that a theme can convey given information or fresh information or both, or zero infermation.
