For virtually realizing the graphic realism display of DXF machine parts, in AutoCAD2007 graphic drawing environment, an interactive experimental method was taken to realize the display of graphic in DXF, which was ta...For virtually realizing the graphic realism display of DXF machine parts, in AutoCAD2007 graphic drawing environment, an interactive experimental method was taken to realize the display of graphic in DXF, which was taken as the data-exchanged interface and source. Based on depth analysis of DXF data structure, take one drawing of DXF lathe turning rotational part asthe test piece. By VC++6.0 programming, part's geometry information could be obtained. Through data processing, 3D data of the test piece could be generated, which is based on 2D data of DXF test piece. Then, OpenGL graphic processing technologies (light, material, texture, map, et al.) were applied on the 3D display of test piece from DXF files or program modules. Finally based on the test report, results of the system functions were shared to prove the realization of system design, and the feasibility of algorithms used. In the developed software, Machine Designers could get a full view of machine parts, and do some proper modifications. The study content and results of our work have some theory and practical significance on the application of program design in the practical projects.展开更多
The flow field in a typical inward-turning inlet was visualized using the Planar Laser Scattering(PLS)method in a shock tunnel with a nominal Mach number of 6.The opaque inlet,which is truncated at a series of section...The flow field in a typical inward-turning inlet was visualized using the Planar Laser Scattering(PLS)method in a shock tunnel with a nominal Mach number of 6.The opaque inlet,which is truncated at a series of sections,and the following transparent isolator,are combined to enable the optical access at different streamwise locations.The sequential PLS images provide a tomography-like flow visualization,which confirm the existence of streamwise Counter-rotating Vortex Pairs(CVPs)in both external and internal flow field of the inlet.Generation mechanisms of these CVPs are unraveled with the help of a numerical simulation,among which the cowl notch plays an important role in the generation of surface trailing CVPs along the centerline of the cowl.Moreover,the cowl shock sweeps the internal boundary layer towards the body side,which ultimately accumulates low-momentum flow on the body side in forms of a large CVP propagating downstream through the isolator.The CVPs formed in the shape-transition are responsible for the nonuniform flow field of the inward-turning inlet.This study indicates that the V-shaped cowl notch affects the downstream flow significantly and,therefore,should be examined thoroughly in practical applications.展开更多
The present work aims at the microstructural characterization of TiAlZrN/ Al2O3 and TiAlZrN/Si3N4 coatings deposited via lateral rotating cathodes. The coatings were deposited using Lateral Rotating Cathodes (LARC) te...The present work aims at the microstructural characterization of TiAlZrN/ Al2O3 and TiAlZrN/Si3N4 coatings deposited via lateral rotating cathodes. The coatings were deposited using Lateral Rotating Cathodes (LARC) technology. The deposited coatings were studied for its cross sectional morphology using scanning electron microscopy. Energy Dispersive Spectrometry was also conducted along the cross section to determine the elemental composition. Micro Vickers hardness test was conducted to determine the hardness of the coatings. The scanning electron microscope images showed that TiAlZrN/Al2O3 coatings showed preferred columnar grain orientation with multilayered structure while TiAlZrN/Si3N4 coatings exhibit a dense grain structure. The TiAlZrN/Si3N4 coating shows a hardness of 31.58 GPa while TiAlZrN/Al2O3 coating shows a hardness of 25.40 GPa. Dry turning tests were performed on AISI 304 stainless steel. The TiAlZrN/Si3N4 coatings show reduced flank wear. Both the coatings even under severe cutting conditions impart surface roughness of less than 1.5 μm.展开更多
