Incorporating enzyme-resistant peptide sequences into self-assembled nanosystems is a promising strategy to enhance the stability and versatility of peptide-based antibacterial drugs,aiming to replace ineffective anti...Incorporating enzyme-resistant peptide sequences into self-assembled nanosystems is a promising strategy to enhance the stability and versatility of peptide-based antibacterial drugs,aiming to replace ineffective antibiotics.By combining newly designed enzymatic-resistant sequences with synthetically derived compounds bearing single,double,triple,or quadruple aromatic rings.A series of nanoscale antimicrobial self-assembled short peptides for the purpose of combating bacterial infections are generated.Nap^(*)(Nap–DNal–Nal–Dab–Dab–NH2,where Nap represents the 1-naphthylacetyl group)possesses the greatest clinical potential(GMSI=23.96)among the peptides in this series.At high concentrations in an aqueous environment,Nap^(*)spontaneously generates nanofibers to capture bacteria and prevent their evasion,exhibiting broad-spectrum antimicrobial effects and exceptional biocompatibility.In the presence of physiological salt ions and serum,the antimicrobial agent exhibits strong effectiveness and retains impressive resistance even when exposed to high levels of proteases(trypsin,chymotrypsin,pepsin).Nap^(*)exhibits negligible in vivo toxicity and effectively alleviates systemic bacterial infections in mice.Mechanistically,Nap^(*)initially captures bacteria and induces bacterial cell death primarily through membrane dissolution,achieved by multiple synergistic mechanisms.In summary,these advances have the potential to greatly expedite the clinical evolution of nanomaterials based on short peptides combined with naphthyl groups and foster the development of peptides integrated with self-assembled systems in this domain.展开更多
A novel non-coplanar aromatic diamine monomer, 3,3'-ditertbutyl-4,4'-diaminodiphenyl-4"-naphthylmethane (TAPN) was synthesized by a condensation reaction of 2-tertbutylaniline and 1-naphthaldehyde under catalyst ...A novel non-coplanar aromatic diamine monomer, 3,3'-ditertbutyl-4,4'-diaminodiphenyl-4"-naphthylmethane (TAPN) was synthesized by a condensation reaction of 2-tertbutylaniline and 1-naphthaldehyde under catalyst hydrochloric acid. The structure of the monomer was confirmed by FTIR, NMR, elementary analysis and mass spectrometry. A series of aromatic polyimides (PIs) were synthesized via conventional one-step polycondensation from TAPN and various commercial aromatic dianhydrides. All of the PIs exhibit excellent solubility in common organic solvents, even in low boiling point solvents such as chloroform (CHC13), tetrahydrofuran (THF) and acetone. The PIs present outstanding thermal stability with the glass transition temperature (Tg) ranged from 299 ℃ to 350 ℃, and the temperature at 10% weight loss ranged from 490 ℃ to 504 ℃, and high optical transparency with the cutoff wavelengths of 306-356 nm. Moreover, the flexible and tough PI films have prominent mechanical properties with tensile strengths in the range of 77.6-90.5 MPa, tensile modulus in the range of 1.8-2.4 GPa and elongation at break in the range of 6.3%-9.5%, as well as lower dielectric constant (2.89-3.12 at 1 MHz) and lower moisture absorption (0.35%-0.66%).展开更多

In order to investigate the mechanism of action of immunoenhancer, the effects of the traditional Chinese medicine immunopromoter on the quantity and the transformation rates of T lymphocytes in the chicken blood were...In order to investigate the mechanism of action of immunoenhancer, the effects of the traditional Chinese medicine immunopromoter on the quantity and the transformation rates of T lymphocytes in the chicken blood were determined. Total 120 chickens were randomly assigned into three groups. The 1% and the 0.5% of the Chinese medicine immunopromoter were added to the chicken drinking water, respectively. The quantity of T lymphocytes in each group was measured by a-Naphthyl acetate esterase (ANAE) staining. The results showed that the percentages of T lymphocytes of the treatment groups were significantly higher than that of the control group (P〈0.05), and the percentage of the 1% group significantly higher than that of the 0.5% group (P〈0.05). In conclusion, the transformation rates of T lymphocytes showed that the Chinese medicine immunopromoter had the significant enhancing effect on the transformation rates of T lymphocytes of the treated chickens. The traditional Chinese medicine immunopromoter had the distinct function to promote the quantity and the transformation rate of T lymphocytes.展开更多

The devices have a structure of indium-tin-oxide(ITO)/4,4′,4′′-Tris[2-naphthyl(phenyl)amino]triphenylamine(2T-NATA)(25 nm)/N,N'-Di-[(1-naphthyl)-N,N'-diphenyl]-1,1'-biphenyl-4,4'-diamine(NPB)(40 nm)/tris-(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum(Al_(q_3))(50 nm)/LiF(1 nm)/Al:Ag(1:3)(x), where the thicknesses of cathode metal layers(Al:Ag) are adjusted, respectively, from 70 nm to 100 nm. In the experiment, it is found that the Li F(1 nm)/Al:Ag(1:3)(75 nm) has good electron injection efficiency. Compared with an Al-only cathode, the turn-on voltage is lowered. At the voltage of 10 V, the luminances for bottom emission from ITO anode side and top emission from metal cathode side are 2 459 cd/m^2 and 1 729 cd/m^2, respectively. Thanks to electron injection enhancement by using Al:Ag cathode, we can obtain a better energy level matching between the cathode and the organic layer, thus the devices have lower turn-on voltage and higher luminance. The present work is concerned with the relationship of the different colors of NSE (non specific esterase) reaction product, in which alpha naphthyl acetate and diazotate of o dianisidine (Fast Blue B salt) were used ...The present work is concerned with the relationship of the different colors of NSE (non specific esterase) reaction product, in which alpha naphthyl acetate and diazotate of o dianisidine (Fast Blue B salt) were used as a substrate and a coupler respectively to describe the histochemical characteristics of NSE in chick embryonic mesonephros and metanephros. Our preliminary results throw light on the nature of NSE reaction produced colors, under light microscope, which were different in various sections for different air drying time length. The reaction product on the slices of the convoluted tubules of chick embryonic kidney was bright yellow after less than 30 min air drying time length, brown after 1.5~2 h air drying time length and black after more than 3 h of air drying. The color change process of NSE precipitates from bright yellow to black is progressive. The phenomennon has not been described previously.展开更多
