Bleeding and contamination from the crevicular fluid may compete for space with the impression material within the sulcus, leading to indistinct preparations and a lack of detail at the margin. In addition, such procedures might damage the PDL and cause permanent recession. Flowable composite cable, as opposed to traditional retraction cords, offers the proper marginal seal and visibility during the impression record because of its lower viscosity, improved adaptability, and elastic properties. The aim of this report is to present a brand-new, innovative method for controlling gingival hemorrhage in addition to the gingival retraction in restorative and prosthodontic treatment by utilizing a flowable composite during the final impression record procedure. In these case reports, the flowable composite cord technique is used instead of traditional gingival cords to modify and refine the gingival tissue before taking the traditional final impression or digital scan. Two cases were done for patients undergoing fixed prosthodontics and veneer treatment within a 2-year follow-up period. In addition, the flowable composite cord was used as temporary restoration before the final prosthetic cementation or under the provisional crowns. As a result, clean and healthy gingival tissues render cementation of the final prosthesis quicker and easier to perform. The patients in both cases claimed that their prosthodontic treatments, which involved the application of a flowable composite cord to temporarily retraction the gingiva, had produced good outcomes at the yearlong follow-up. In conclusion, the flowable composite cord technique is found to be a useful tool to improve the quality of impressions in fixed prosthodontics by providing excellent access for impression material to record fine details of the fin展开更多

The formulation was optimized by a four-factor, three-level orthogonal experiment to screen inert ingredients and spray-drying conditions. The optimal dry flowable formulation of C. rosea included 30% C. rosea (ratio of conidia powder and its fermentation broth is 1:3), 3% Morwet EFW, 4% K12, 10% Morwet D425, 9% sodium salt of polynaphthalene sulphonic acid (NNO), 5% croscarmellose sodium, 5% (NH4)2SO4, 0.5% carboxymethyl cellulose sodium (CMC-Na), 1% oxalic acid and palygorskite (carrier) up to 100%. The formulation exhibited good physical characteristics, such as high dispersibility, viability and a long shelf life. Plate antagonism tests and pot trials indicated that the dry flowable formulation was very effective against S. sclerotiorum, with control efficiency of up to 88.30%. This dry flowable formulation of C. rosea is a new potential commercial fungicide for spray drying to control S. sclerotiorum.展开更多

The main focus was to determine how the wood ash additio...This research investigated the use of wood ash to partially replace cement or sand in conventional concrete, roller compacted concrete (RCC), and flowable fill. The main focus was to determine how the wood ash addition affected the main fresh and hardened properties of these materials. It was found that the wood ash could be successfully incorporated into the conventional concrete. In particular, the wood ash addition not only accelerated the setting, but also improved the early and the 28-day compressive strength of concrete that contained the blast furnace slag. It was also observed that the wood ash could be positively added into RCC to facilitate the compaction and reduce the risk of segregation. In addition, the wood ash can be beneficially introduced into the flowable fill mixtures to facilitate flow, to alleviate bleeding and subsidence, as well as to achieve controlled strength especially when combined with the class C or the class F fly ash.展开更多
The paper gives a brief introduction about the workflow management platform,Flowable,and how it is used for textual-data management.It is relatively new with its first release on 13 October,2016.Despite the short time...The paper gives a brief introduction about the workflow management platform,Flowable,and how it is used for textual-data management.It is relatively new with its first release on 13 October,2016.Despite the short time on the market,it seems to be quickly well-noticed with 4.6 thousand stars on GitHub at the moment.The focus of our project is to build a platform for text analysis on a large scale by including many different text resources.Currently,we have successfully connected to four different text resources and obtained more than one million works.Some resources are dynamic,which means that they might add more data or modify their current data.Therefore,it is necessary to keep data,both the metadata and the raw data,from our side up to date with the resources.In addition,to comply with FAIR principles,each work is assigned a persistent identifier(PID)and indexed for searching purposes.In the last step,we perform some standard analyses on the data to enhance our search engine and to generate a knowledge graph.End-users can utilize our platform to search on our data or get access to the knowledge graph.Furthermore,they can submit their code for their analyses to the system.The code will be executed on a High-Performance Cluster(HPC)and users can receive the results later on.In this case,Flowable can take advantage of PIDs for digital objects identification and management to facilitate the communication with the HPC system.As one may already notice,the whole process can be expressed as a workflow.A workflow,including error handling and notification,has been created and deployed.Workflow execution can be triggered manually or after predefined time intervals.According to our evaluation,the Flowable platform proves to be powerful and flexible.Further usage of the platform is already planned or implemented for many of our projects.展开更多
Soft clays are usually classified according to their undrained shear strength,Su.Values of Su less than 12.5 kPa are associated with very soft clays.In addition to their low shear strength,soft clays exhibit high comp...Soft clays are usually classified according to their undrained shear strength,Su.Values of Su less than 12.5 kPa are associated with very soft clays.In addition to their low shear strength,soft clays exhibit high compressibility upon loading.Therefore,soft clays are considered to be problematic for foundation purposes.Geo-foam is an industrial material that is characterized by a very low unit weight(20 kg/m^(3) on average)compared to that of the soil.The density of expanded polystyrene(EPS)ranges from 1.0%to 2.5%,which results in a compressive strength ranging between 70 kPa and 140 kPa and an elastic modulus ranging between 5 MPa and 12 MPa.EPS geofoam blocks are used in a wide range of geotechnical applications as a lightweight fill material.The main objective of this study was to investigate the geotechnical properties of soft clays containing geo-foam beads and cement bypass dust(CBPD).We also investigated the viability of preparing low-strength excavatable fill mixtures.To study the effect of(geofoam beads+CBPD)/soft clay on the fluid-state and hardened properties of new fill,we conducted experiments on two groups of mixtures(A&B).Each mixture contained different ratios of geo-foam beads and CBPD so that we could study the effect of the additive on the flow consistency,dry unit weight,unconfined compressive strength,and shear strength of the mixture.The test results showed that the unconfined compressive strength of the studied mixtures without geo-foam ranged from 271.8 kPa to 1405.14 kPa at CBPD concentrations between 3.88%and 18.63%.The cohesion values for the group containing geo-foam ranged from 50 kPa to 20 kPa at geo-foam percentages between 0.32%and 1.35%.The friction angle of the group containing geo-foam ranged from 10 kPa to 22 kPa at CBPD percentages between 0.32%and 1.35%.Cement bypass dust can be successfully used to process self-compacting,self-leveling,excavatable and flowable fill material.展开更多
Aim of the present in vitro study is to evaluate the radiopacity levels of composite resins with various shades and viscosity.10 mm×2 mm discs were prepared from 7 condensable and 4 flowable composites(n=10).An a...Aim of the present in vitro study is to evaluate the radiopacity levels of composite resins with various shades and viscosity.10 mm×2 mm discs were prepared from 7 condensable and 4 flowable composites(n=10).An aluminum step wedge ranging from 2.0 to 10.0 mm in thickness was placed on the occlusal film.Digital radiographs were taken using a dental X-ray device and radiographic densities of each step of the aluminum wedge and the samples were recorded to the computer.Five readings were taken and means were calculated.One-Way Anova and Tamhane post hoc tests were performed.While G-eanial Posterior has the highest radiopacity value followed by Filtek Z550,Aelite Flo has the lowest radiopacity value.Posterior composites show higher radiopacity and flowable composites with higher filler loadings have superior radiopacity levels to condensable composites.Enamel and body shades of the composite brands have also statistically significant differences in radiopacity scores.Eventually,radiopacity level of a composite resin material is not affected by the size of fillers;however,the composition,shape and loading of the fillers can specify the radiodensity.展开更多

文摘目的 :评估流动性双重固化复合树脂核材料在短时超高强度照射下的聚合效果。方法 :将双重固化流动性复合树脂核材料(regular dentine,Para core)注满单端开口的长方体形不透光硅橡胶模具中,将光固化灯紧贴开口端,以1000 m W/cm^2持续照射10、20 s或以3200 m W/cm^2持续照射3、6 s。试件避光保存1 h后取出,测量试件纵断面距照射光源1~10 mm间,以1 mm为间隔共10个深度的努氏显微硬度以判断聚合效果。试件继续避光保存24 h后,重复上述测量。采用SPSS 16.0软件包对数据进行统计学分析。结果:除3200 m W/cm^2、3 s光照射条件无法引发光固化反应外,在其余光照射条件下,试件在光影响深度内的硬度值在光照后24 h都显著高于单纯化学固化产生的硬度值,但光照射对试件的影响深度有限。在试件的光影响深度内,随着光照射时间的延长,试件的硬度值得到显著提高;而试件在3200 m W/cm^2、6 s和1000 m W/cm^2、20 s条件下光照射后24 h的硬度值无显著差异。结论:3200 m W/cm^2光强度照射时间必须延长到6 s,才能保证引发流动性复合树脂核材料的光固化反应,并获得合适的聚合效果。
