There are early ...The Xihe site lies northwest of the Third Longshan village of Longshan town, Zhangqiu city, Shandong Province, and occupies at present an area of 100,000 sq m. It was excavated twice in 1991 and 1997. There are early Neolithic and Longshan culture remains on the site. The former include 19 house-foundations and 9 ash-pits; the yielded objects comprise the pottery fu caudron, double-eared jar, ring-foot dish, bowl, high-necked egg-shaped pot, small-mouth swollen-belly pot, bo bowl,yi-ewer-shaped object, stand, terra-cotta pig and human face, the stone axe, adze, sickle, hammer,grindstone, quern and roller, stand, whetstone and pad, and the bone hairpin, awl and needle. Amongthe Longshan culture remains are 28 ash-pits as well as the pottery ding tripod, jar, pot, basin, yan steamer, urn, yi ewer, dou stemmed vessel, single-handled cup, zhi cup, gui tripod, vessel cover, ring and spindle whorl, and the stone axe, chisel, arrowhead, hammer and pestle-shaped object. The formergroup of remains goes back to 8400- 7700 BP, while the letter belongs to the later early and middle stagesof the Longshan culture.展开更多
