Because the reduced bond length is taken as variable, the new potential function can be simplified to have the form analogous to the Lennard-Jones potential. Accoroding to Debye model, a series of equations for calculating various elasticities and constants K and Q in Gruneisen equation have been derived from the new potential function. The application of the new potential function to Ni, Cu and five alkli metals shows that these equations are correct.展开更多

The low thermal expansion characteristics of the most widely used class of materials are derived from the ferromagnetic characteristics of Ni, Fe, and Co-based austenitic matrices containing little or no Cr.Alloy developments have been aimed at improving the oxidation resistance and stress accelerated grain boundary oxygen (SAGBO) attack.INCONEL alloy 783 is an oxidation resistant, low coefficient of thermal expansion superalloy developed for gas turbine applications. Alloy 783 represents a culmination in the development, of an alloy system with very high alumtnum content that, in addition to forming γ′,causes βaluminide phase precipitation in the austenitic matrix.This type of structure can be processed to resist both SAGBO and general oxidation,while providing low thermal expansion and useful mechanical properties up to 700℃.Key aspects of the alloy's development are presented.展开更多
Effects of different heat treatment temperatures on properties of Chinese calcined flint clay based plastic refractories were investigated using Chinese calcined flint clay as starting material, aluminum sulfate and f...Effects of different heat treatment temperatures on properties of Chinese calcined flint clay based plastic refractories were investigated using Chinese calcined flint clay as starting material, aluminum sulfate and fireclay as binding system. The results showed that with temperature rising, Chinese calcined flint clay based plastic refractories shrinked firstly and then expanded. The modulus of rupture (MOR) and the cold crushing strength (CCS) inereased firstly and then decreased from 110 ℃ to 600 ℃ , then increased obviously. Thermal expansion coefficient increased from 110 ℃ to 760 ℃, decreased from 760 ℃ to 1 300 ℃ , and increased from 1 300 ℃ to1500 ℃.展开更多
