The cathodoluminescence (CL) images of the zircons indicate that they can be divided into two major types, i.e. euhedral-subhedral one with striped absorption and round one with obvious oscillatory zoning rims. The dating results of the zircons suggest that Chibai- song gabbro in the Tonghua area was formed at 134±7Ma—the Early Cretaceous. The concordia ages of 2497±13Ma, 787±35Ma, 321±10Ma, 217±11Ma of zircons imply that the Tonghua area might geologically be located in the convergent region of the Yangtze Block (YB) and the North China Block (NCB) in the early Mesozoic and the zircons should be caught during magma intrusion. The existence of the Early Cretaceous basic dyke swarm in the Tonghua area shows that an intensive extensional environment occurred in the Early Cretaceous. It is suggested that the magmatism and lithospheric extension in the Tonghua area should be related to the subduction of the Pacific plate.展开更多

The results show that these plutons formed in the Triassic with ages of 203—217 Ma. Geological and geochemical characteristics indicate that the plutons are composed of quartz diorite and granite. The former was derived from partial melting of mafic lower crust, whereas the latter originated from thickened crust with garnet as the residue in the source. It appears that protoliths of these two types of granitits are different although they have the same emplacement age. Considering that these plutons are petrologically different from the coeval granites in the Xingmeng (Xing抋n-Mongolian) to Jihei (Jilin-Heilongjiang) orogenic belt in the north, it is suggested that their formation was related to the Dabie-Sulu ultrahigh-pressure collisional orogenesis since their ages are only 10—20 Ma younger than timing of the ultrahigh-pressure metamorphism, but comparable to that of the first rapid exhumation of the ultrahigh-pressure metamorphic rocks and the emplacement of the post-collisional granites.展开更多

To evaluate the high-quality source rocks of Cretaceous continental shale oil, the distribution characteristics and the evolution of the ancient environment, samples of shale were systematically analyzed in terms of sedimentary facies, organic geochemistry, and organic carbon isotopic composition. The results demonstrate that a TOC value of 1.5% represents the lower-limit TOC value of the high-quality source rocks. Source rocks have an aggregate thickness of 211 m and contain abundant organic matter, with TOC values of 2.69% on average and a maximum value over 5.44%. The original hydrocarbon-generative potential value(S_1+S_2) is between 0.18 mg/g and 6.13 mg/g, and the Ro is between 0.97% and 1.40%. The thermal maturation of the source rocks is relatively mature to highly mature. The δ^(13)C value range is between -34.75‰ and -26.53‰. The ratio of saturated hydrocarbons to aromatic hydrocarbons is 1.55 to 5.24, with an average of 2.85, which is greater than 1.6. The organic types are mainly type Ⅱ_1, followed by type Ⅰ. The organic carbon source was C_3 plants and hydrophytes. The paleoclimate of the Hengtongshan Formation can be characterized as hot and dry to humid, and these conditions were conducive to the development of high-quality source rocks. A favorable paleoenvironment and abundant organic carbon sources provide a solid hydrocarbon generation base for the formation and accumulation of oil and gas in the shale of the Tonghua Basin.展开更多

The unrevealed key problems including the growth of source rocks, hydrocarbon generation potential and oil and gas source and the low exploration degree have constrained the further study of petroleum geological conditions and exploration deployment. Based on outcrop and core observations, geological section survey, trench exploration, high-precision gravity and magnetism and geological survey wells, this work discussed the basic geological conditions, main hydrocarbon source rocks, hydrocarbon generation potential and the oil and gas source.展开更多

LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating results of zircons from the diorites indicate that the rocks were formed in the Middle Jurassic (171 ±2 Ma, MSWD = 1. 19). Geochemically, these rocks have Si02 concentrations of 52. 52%-54. 90%,K20 of 2. 14%-3.84% , Na20 of 3. 17%-3. 35% , MgO of 7. 43%-9. 34% and high Mg# of 68. 57-72. 57. These rocks are characterized by enrichment in large ion lithophile elements( LILE,such as K, Ba, Rb and Sr) and light rare earth elements ( LREE) , relatively depletion in high field strength elements ( HFSE, such as Ta, Nb, Ti and Zr) , and heavy rare earth elements (HREE). These characteristics suggest that primary magma of the rocks were derived from the partial melting of mantle with miner crustal contamination, which may related to partial melting of mantle wedge by addition of sediment melt from subducting oceanic crust. Based on former and present studies, the authors consider that the Nancha ore deposit high-Mg diorites were formed in compres- sional structural setting which is similar to volcanic arc. It could be related to the subduction of the Paleo-Paci- fic plate beneath the Eurasian continent.展开更多
