The Influence of Surface Conditioning of Ceramic Restorations before Metal Bracket Bonding

The aim of this study was to compare the shear bond strength and Adhesive Remnant Index of four different veneering ceramic materials to metal brackets. Additionally, it should be examined whether it is possible to overcome the etching method using hydrofluoric acid which is noxious. Instead of this treatment, air particle abrasion with 25 μm aluminium trioxide, silane coupling application and etching with 37.0 per cent orthophosphoric acid as pre-treatment procedures of the veneering ceramics before bonding was investigated. Two surface conditioning methods of four ceramic materials before bonding brackets were examined: in group 1 an air particle abrasion with 25 μm aluminium trioxide (4 seconds at a pressure of 2.5 bars) and subsequently a silane coupling agent (Espe Sil, 3M Unitek, Monrovia, USA) was applicated on one side of each ceramic specimen (10 per group). In group 2 one side of each sample (10 per group) was etched with 37.0 per cent orthophosphoric acid for two minutes and was followed by a silane application (Espe Sil, 3M Unitek, Monrovia, USA). After this procedure the self-ligating metal brackets SmartClip (3M Unitek, Monrovia, USA) brackets were bonded to the ceramic blocks and a thermocycling process started (5°C - 55°C, 6000 cycles). Then, shear bond strength and Adhesive Remnant Index (ARI) were measured. To determine statistical differences Oneway-ANOVA and Tukey Post-hoc test were performed. The level of significance was set at α = 0.05. On the basis of the results of the current study, it could be concluded that sandblasting with 25 μm aluminium trioxide and the use of orthophosphoric acid (37.0 per cent) seem to prepare the surface of the ceramic restoration sufficiently before bracket bonding. The found level of shear bond strength values seem be sufficient for bracket bonding. Hydrofluoric acid seems not to be justifiable anymore for preparing the surface of dental ceramic restorations before bracket bonding. 展开更多

This study deals with the valorization of natural residues into activated carbon prepared from waste“Baobab fruit shell”from the Fatick Region,Senegal.Thus,after the preparation of the baobab shell,a chemical activation with orthophosphoric acid H3PO4(85%)was performed followed by pyrolysis at 530°C.To eliminate possible carbonization residues,the activated carbons were impregnated in 0.1 M hydrochloric acid and/or soda solutions and then washed thoroughly with distilled water to obtain a pH between 6.5 and 7.The latter were then dried in an oven at 105°C for 24 h.A characterization was carried out to determine the moisture content,the ash content,the iodine and methylene blue indices,the surface functions and the pH at zero charge point(pHpzc).The moisture and ash contents were 1.87%and 0.72%,respectively.The iodine and peroxide indices obtained were 939,09 mg/g and 575.73 mg/g,respectively.Surface function analysis by Boehm’s method showed that the acidic functions were higher than the basic functions and their pHpzc was lower than neutrality.The best efficiency of methylene blue removal was 99.75%and was obtained with a mass of 0.150 g of activated carbon,pH equal to 10,an initial concentration of methylene blue of 200 mg/L and a contact time of 35 min. 展开更多

Bonding Orthodontic Ceramic Brackets to Ceramic Restorations:Evaluation of Different Surface Conditioning Methods

The purpose of this study was to compare the shear bond strength and Adhesive Remnant Index of four different veneering ceramic materials to ceramic brackets. Additionallly, a further aim of this study was to overcome the etching using hydrofluoric acid which is noxious and could seriously damage the corneas of the eyes. Two surface conditioning methods of four ceramic materials before bonding brackets were examined: in group 1 an air particle abrasion with 25 μm aluminium trioxide (4 seconds at a pressure of 2.5 bars) and subsequently a silane coupling agent (Espe Sil, 3M Unitek, Monrovia, USA) was applicated on one side of each ceramic specimen (10 per group). 采用SiO2水溶胶(ACS)为硅源,H3PO4为桥联剂,H2O2为活化剂在玻璃表面成功制备了一种性能优异的新型减反膜。利用FTIR、XRD、FESEM、TEM、AFM对薄膜结构、形成机理及性能进行了研究,结果表明,在成胶过程中,H2O2的导入有效修复了SiO2胶粒... 采用SiO2水溶胶(ACS)为硅源,H3PO4为桥联剂,H2O2为活化剂在玻璃表面成功制备了一种性能优异的新型减反膜。利用FTIR、XRD、FESEM、TEM、AFM对薄膜结构、形成机理及性能进行了研究,结果表明,在成胶过程中,H2O2的导入有效修复了SiO2胶粒的表面羟基,提高了SiO2的反应活性;而在焙烧过程中,H3PO4通过其自身脱水形成的偏磷酸链状体分别与SiO2胶粒及玻璃基底表面的Si-OH进行了脱羟基缩聚,构架了坚固的Si?O?P网络交联,最终形成了稳定的磷硅酸盐凝胶网络结构,提高了成膜质量。当n(H3PO4):n(H2O2):n(EtOH):n(SiO2)=0.49:0.52:30:1时,制备的SiO2减反膜在可见光区平均透光率高达98%,硬度可达6H。 展开更多

研究了以工业级湿法磷酸净化酸浓缩生产的质量分数为98%的正磷酸为原料,采用冷却结晶方式脱除正磷酸中的阴离子硫酸根(SO_4^(2-))。考察了降温速率、搅拌转速、助长剂用量、养晶时间对正磷酸中硫酸根脱除的影响。确定了最佳工艺条件:搅... 研究了以工业级湿法磷酸净化酸浓缩生产的质量分数为98%的正磷酸为原料,采用冷却结晶方式脱除正磷酸中的阴离子硫酸根(SO_4^(2-))。考察了降温速率、搅拌转速、助长剂用量、养晶时间对正磷酸中硫酸根脱除的影响。确定了最佳工艺条件:搅拌转速为300 r/min,降温速率为每15 min降温1℃,助长剂用量为5 g,养晶时间为1.5 h。在最佳工艺条件下,正磷酸中硫酸根去除率达到82.1%,硫酸根质量分数小于20 mg/kg,达到85%食品级磷酸对硫酸根的质量要求,提高了磷酸产品的附加值。同时,该方法为生产低硫酸根含量的正磷酸提供了一条可行途径。 展开更多

对HZSM-5分子筛与H3PO4之间的相互作用进行了研究。结果表明,焙烧或蒸汽处理之前,磷酸的主要存在形式是化学吸附,吸附能分别是-49.31,-45.96kJ/mol,两者都是负值,表明吸附是一个放热过程,原因是氢键作用的存在。化学吸附包括H3PO4及质... 对HZSM-5分子筛与H3PO4之间的相互作用进行了研究。结果表明,焙烧或蒸汽处理之前,磷酸的主要存在形式是化学吸附,吸附能分别是-49.31,-45.96kJ/mol,两者都是负值,表明吸附是一个放热过程,原因是氢键作用的存在。化学吸附包括H3PO4及质子化的H4PO4+,H5P2O7+在分子筛表面上的吸附。煅烧或蒸汽之后,磷酸与分子筛发生脱水反应,形成两种可能的作用模式,即磷化合物通过一个或两个氧桥同分子筛相连。因为由一个氧桥到两个氧桥模式的反应能垒是125.73kJ/mol,反之是47.59kJ/mol,所以有一个氧桥的模式较稳定,是主要存在模式,且较低的能垒使两个氧桥结构易于转化成一个氧桥稳定结构。 展开更多
