The present study deals with the flow over a nonlinearly stretching sheet of Casson fluid with the effects of radiation and heat source/sink. The Casson fluid model is used to characterize the non-Newtonian fluid beha...The present study deals with the flow over a nonlinearly stretching sheet of Casson fluid with the effects of radiation and heat source/sink. The Casson fluid model is used to characterize the non-Newtonian fluid behaviour. With the help of justified similarity transformations the governing equations were reduced to couple nonlinear ordinary differential equations. The effective numerical technique Keller Box method is used to solve these equations. The variations in velocity, temperature profiles were presented with the various values of nonlinear stretching parameter n and Casson parameter β. The nature of Skinfriction and Local nusselt number has presented. Effects of radiation and heat source/sink on temperature profiles have been discussed.展开更多

In a long-term follow-up study (average, 6.5 years) of 112 feet (90 pa-tients) subjected to Keller’s operation for hallux valgus deformity, the author observed arelationship between Keller’s operation and the metata...In a long-term follow-up study (average, 6.5 years) of 112 feet (90 pa-tients) subjected to Keller’s operation for hallux valgus deformity, the author observed arelationship between Keller’s operation and the metatarsalgia which was located beneaththe central metatarsal heads. The data showed that the metatarsalgia developed or was ag-gravated in 26 feet (23%), and was eliminated or alleviated in 23 feet (21%) afterKeller’s operation. When more than one-third of the proximal phalanx of the big toe wasresected, the incidence of the metatarsalgia obviously increased following surgery. Theautho rpreferred a "Z" lengthening of the extensor hallucis longus tendon instead ofresecting excessive proximal phalanx. The total incidence of the metatarsalgia was 36%(40 feet) preoperatively and 38% (43 feet) postoperatively. This result indicated thatthere was no obvious difference in the incidence of the preoperative and postoperativemetatarsalgia. No more than one-third of the proximal phalanx of the big toe should beremoved. This seems to reduce the incidence of the metatarsalgia after Keller’s operation.After operation, the three princepal symptoms of hallux valgus deformity, painful bunionand difficulty in shoe-wearing were improved for more than 95% in the 112 feet.Eighty one% of the patients were satisfied with the result of the operation. We considerthat this method is one of the effective operation for correcting the hallux valgusdeformity and it is also important to select suitable patients.展开更多

The flow is assumed to be over on exponentially stretching sheet. The governing system of partial differential equations has been transformed into ordinary differential equation using similarity transformation. Keller box method is simulated on the dimensionless system of differential equations. Furthermore, he showe...Jedrzejewicz showed that a polynomial map over a field of characteristic zero is invertible, if and only if the corresponding endomorphism maps irreducible polynomials to irreducible polynomials. Furthermore, he showed that a polynomial map over a field of characteristic zero is a Keller map, if and only if the corresponding endomorphism maps irreducible polynomials to square-free polynomials. We show that the latter endomorphism maps other square-free polynomials to square-free polynomials as well. In connection with the above classification of invertible polynomial maps and the Jacobian Conjecture, we study irreducibility properties of several types of Keller maps, to each of which the Jacobian Conjecture can be reduced. Herewith, we generalize the result of Bakalarski that the components of cubic homogeneous Keller maps with a symmetric Jacobian matrix （over C and hence any field of characteristic zero） are irreducible. Furthermore, we show that the Jacobian Conjecture can even be reduced to any of these types with the extra condition that each affinely linear combination of the components of the polynomial map is irreducible. This is somewhat similar to reducing the planar Jacobian Conjecture to the so-called （planar） weak Jacobian Conjecture by Kaliman.展开更多
