Our research finds that if willingness to give up their land is used as the indicator for behavioral permanent migration, the main factors that influence migrant workers' intention to migrate will be their individual motives for migration, i.e. choices based on economic rationality. If wishing to transfer their household registration to the cities where they work is used as the indicator for institutional permanent migration, the main factors that influence their intentions will be regional conditions and the pressure of institutional legitimacy, and their choices will be socially rational in that they are seeking institutional protection to improve their life in the city. Groups with different aspirations vary in their individual motivations for migration and the degree to which they feel the pressure of institutional legitimacy.展开更多

It is found that the ideal number of children for the Chinese trended downwards from 1980, but since 2000 the average number has remained basically stable at 1.6 to 1.8. In the 1980s, people's fertility levels were higher than their fertility intentions. With economic and educational progress in China, both fertility levels and fertility intentions showed a downward trend, with the former declining faster than the latter. Since 1990, people's fertility levels have been lower than their fertility intentions; that is, their actual number of children has been less than their ideal number. This provides an empirical basis for examining the changes in China's fertility intentions and fertility levels.展开更多

Full-time registered nurses(n = 150) from Grade A hospitals in Tianjin were surveyed. Pearson correlation, hierarchical regression analyses, and the Sobel test were used in the study. Results: The results illustrated that positive emotion mediated the relationship between burnout and nurses' turnover intention. Conclusions: Nursing administrators should pay more attention to the benefits of positive emotions on working motivation. It is helpful to relieve burnout in the working process so that nurses are willing to remain in their current employment.展开更多
